We’re pleased to announce a new brand to accompany the launch of our redesigned Townapps mobile apps in Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom and United States. You’ll see this new look in both our apps and marketing as we roll out over 100 local town mobile apps over the next few months.
It’s been nearly 3 years since Townapps first mobile app, the Athlone App was unveiled. The concept was simple – we wanted to work with local partners to build apps for towns and communities offering an easy to use guide packed full of local business and tourist information. Since then our live town apps and partners have grown in numbers throughout Ireland and the UK, and we are now expanding into North America.
We’ve listened to the valuable feedback from our app users, partners and local business owners and taken their comments on board. This year we took the decision to rebuild and redesign our apps. We’ve been working hard on the new design and features to ensure we continue to offer our users the best experience possible.
The new and improved apps will include geo-location, weather information, up-to-date local community news and event listings. The defined categories; What to do, Where to eat, Where to shop, Where to stay and Local services allow users to easily find what they are looking for. The new A-Z search feature makes finding information easier than ever. The user can find places of interest near them, see map views, get directions, read more information, view photos, directly contact a business by phone or visit their website and social media channels. Users can also claim exclusive special offers directly from their phone by simply showing the code displayed to the local business.
The new apps will be available from the Apple App Store and Google Play from early June. They will remain free to download for all users. So please download your favourite town app, explore a little, and let us know your feedback.
